What this service records about the people who use it, why it holds it, and how to have it removed.
Last updated 30 September 2026.
The short version. This is a private tool for coordinating building projects, used by invitation. It records your name and email so it knows who you are, and whatever project work you put into it. It is not advertising-funded, nothing is sold or handed to anyone else, and there is no tracking of any kind.
Who runs it
Design Explorer is operated by Gorkytecture. Questions, corrections and deletion requests go to gorkytecture@gmail.com, which is a real address read by a person.
What is recorded when you sign in
There are two ways to sign in. Both lead to the same account here, matched by email address.
- With Google. Google confirms who you are and hands this service a signed confirmation containing your name, email address and a Google account identifier.
- With email. This uses the one account for Timeabit, Pessage and Design Explorer, which Gorkytecture runs as part of Pessage. You enter a code sent to your email, or a password you set for that account, and the account service confirms to this service your email address, your name if the account has one, and the account's identifier.
Those things are stored, along with when the account was created and when it was last used.
This service never receives or stores a password. With Google you only ever type it at Google. With email, the code or password goes from your browser straight to the account service, and only its confirmation comes here.
What is recorded when you use it
- Project work. The models you upload and everything recorded against them: item details, suppliers, prices, delivery and installation status, requests for information, submittals, permits, questions, drawings, presentation pages, project walls and photographs.
- Who did what. Changes to an item, an RFI or a permit are stamped with the email address of the person who made them, so a project has an accountable history.
- Sign-in sessions. Held as a random token, stored only as an irreversible hash, valid for thirty days.
- People on a project. Names, email addresses, companies and disciplines that a project owner adds to their own project so that the right people can be asked questions.
- Connected programs. If you connect the Revit, Rhino or SketchUp plug-in, each model it sends is labeled with the program, the computer’s name and the email of the account that connected it.
- Errors. When something breaks in your browser, a short description of the error goes to the site’s owner so it can be fixed. Anything in it that could work as a key is removed first.
If you were sent a share link
A share link lets somebody see one project without an account. If a link asks who you are, the name and email you type are self-reported and unverified, kept with that link so your questions and replies carry a name. Somebody holding a link sees only what the link was set to show.
When a question or request is directed at someone on a project, this service may email them about it. Those messages go only to addresses a project owner has added to their own project. There is no newsletter, no marketing and no list.
Where it is kept, and who else is involved
Everything runs on Cloudflare, which stores the database, the model files and the nightly backups and, in the course of delivering any website, processes network information such as IP addresses. Signing in with Google is handled by Google, which knows you signed in to this application. The pages also load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address when a page opens. Signing in with email is handled by the account service for Timeabit, Pessage and Design Explorer, which is hosted by Supabase and keeps that account's email address and, if you set one, its password; its sign-in codes are sent through Cloudflare. Those three companies, and Anthropic when Claude is used (below), are the only ones involved. Nothing is sold, rented, shared or handed to advertisers, data brokers or anyone else.
Pessage is Gorkytecture's messaging app for building projects. When a project is connected to Pessage, its team sees notes from Pessage on the model. To open them, or to sign in to Pessage with this account, this service gives Pessage a short signed note with your account's email address, good for two minutes.
There are no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third-party cookies. The only cookies set are the ones that keep you signed in and remember a share link. Signing in with email also keeps that sign-in in your browser's own storage, so the account menu can show your plans; signing out clears it.
Claude, the AI assistant
Design Explorer can use Claude, made by Anthropic, to answer questions about a project and to suggest names for items. It is off unless the owner of a project uses it themselves or turns it on for that project's team, and it is never offered to people who open a share link.
- What is sent. When someone asks Claude a question, the question and the parts of the project Claude looks up to answer it (for example item details, delivery and submittal records, RFIs and permits) are sent to Anthropic to produce the answer. For a naming suggestion, two small pictures of the item and its details are sent. Money is included only for people whose role on the project sees money.
- What Anthropic does with it. Under Anthropic's commercial terms it is not used to train Anthropic's models, and Anthropic keeps it only for a limited time (currently up to 30 days) unless the law or a review for misuse requires longer.
- What is recorded here. Each question, who asked it, when, the answer, what it cost, and any rating, in the project's AI log, which the project's owner can read. People who use Claude on a project are told this in the app.
- It does not change anything by itself. Claude can propose a change or draft an RFI; nothing is saved or sent until a person presses the button to do it, and each change it proposed is marked as such in the item's history.
- In your own Claude. If you add Design Explorer to your own Claude as a connector, what Claude reads goes to your own Claude account under your own agreement with Anthropic, and each lookup is noted in the project's AI log. You can disconnect it at any time in Claude's settings or under Settings here.
How long it is kept
Project work is kept until somebody deletes it. Removing a project removes everything belonging to it — the records, the photographs, the drawings and the model files — and cannot be undone from the app. The nightly backups still hold copies for a while: database copies for the last thirty nights, and a deleted file’s copy for ninety days. Sign-in sessions expire after thirty days. Ask at the address above and your account and its projects will be removed, along with the account used for email sign-in if you ask for that too.
Your rights
You may ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or ask for a copy. Write to gorkytecture@gmail.com. If your work sits inside somebody else's project, they control that project and are asked first.
Children
This is a professional construction coordination tool. It is not intended for, or directed at, anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date above changes and anyone with an account is told by email.
